sweetie: the jackie kennedy story

Inspiration for the book "Sweetie, Don't Eat That" came after I met a mother and daughter at a Giant grocery store.  They resembled Jackie Kennedy. I said, "Your daughter looks like Jackie Kennedy."  The girl said, "Mom, who is Jackie Kennedy?"  So I wrote a book to honor our greatest First Lady.

The iconic "jackie in pearls" photo

The character of mom in the book "Sweetie, Don't Eat That" comes from the iconic photo of Jackie Kennedy with her daughter Caroline biting the string of pearls. I could almost hear Jackie whispering, "Sweetie, Don't eat that" to Caroline.
